Or maybe it was you who helped a neighbor prepare for hurricane season, served a meal to someone less fortunate, or cleaned up a littered beach… How did that make you feel? All volunteers share one common emotion — the joy of giving back. The truth is volunteering isn’t only good for the community, it’s good for the soul. That’s what the new communitywide “V” Movement is all about — the rewards of volunteerism. “V” draws on the collective efforts of government, business and the community to make Miami-Dade County a better place to live. It’s how we, as a people, can take ownership of the place we call home and feel great about doing it. I encourage you to make volunteering a priority in your life. Together through this initiative, we will stir generations, propel a movement and demonstrate how rewarding helping others can be.
